JURUPA VALLEY, CA – Two people were killed early Monday morning after a car lost control and crashed into a parked box truck along the 60 Freeway, authorities reported.
The accident happened just before 5:00 a.m. on the eastbound lanes near Country Village Road. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of a black Honda lost control, hit the center divider, crossed all lanes, and went down an embankment before slamming into a box truck parked at a nearby business lot.
The male driver was ejected from the vehicle and found dead on the freeway, while the female passenger was found deceased inside the car.
Following the truck crash in Jurupa Valley, all eastbound lanes—except for the carpool lane—were closed for several hours during the investigation but have since reopened.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of this fatal accident in Jurupa Valley.
