LONG BEACH, CA — One person lost their life early Tuesday morning after a traffic accident in Long Beach, when their vehicle collided with another car attempting to make a U-turn.
According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), the U-turn accident occurred around 4:35 a.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Orange Avenue.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a vehicle traveling east on 10th Street struck another car that was making a U-turn, causing one of the vehicles — an older, dark-colored sedan — to crash into several parked cars.
Footage from the scene shows severe damage to the driver’s side of the sedan. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, though the investigation remains ongoing.
