LOS ANGELES, CA — A serious Sunset Boulevard crash left one driver dead early Friday morning in Hollywood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the vehicle lost control around 2:42 a.m. and slammed into three parked cars near Sunset Boulevard and Formosa Avenue.
One of the parked vehicles had a driver inside, who was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The driver who caused the collision was also taken to a medical facility, where they were pronounced dead shortly after. Authorities have not yet released the person’s identity.
Witnesses reported that moments before the crash, two BMWs were speeding down Sunset Boulevard, possibly racing. Shortly after, they heard a loud impact and saw a man lying on the sidewalk who was not breathing. LAPD has not confirmed this information.
The roadway remained closed as traffic investigators examined the scene. The cause of the Hollywood crash is still under investigation.
