
SAN BERNARDINO, CA — A high-speed chase reaching more than 130 mph ended in tragedy Saturday night in San Bernardino, leaving one person dead and three others injured after a violent crash.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the pursuit began around 11:48 p.m. when a driver failed to yield during a traffic stop near the 210 Freeway. The suspect accelerated, initiating a chase that spanned nearly 50 miles, swerving through lanes and reaching extremely dangerous speeds.
The pursuit came to an end near the N State Street off-ramp on the eastbound 210 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The collision was so severe that all four occupants—three men and one woman—were ejected from the car. One person died at the scene, and the remaining three were transported to a nearby hospital.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Central Station continue to investigate the high-speed pursuit in San Bernardino to determine the exact cause of the crash and any potential liabilities.
