
LOS ANGELES, CA — A traffic collision in Los Angeles this Thursday left multiple people injured after an ambulance transporting two elderly patients crashed into an SUV, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The ambulance was en route to a local hospital with a 94-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman when the crash occurred. Following the impact, five individuals were taken to nearby hospitals, including two LAFD firefighters who were riding in the ambulance.
Two additional ambulance occupants also received medical treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
The 34-year-old SUV driver was transported to a trauma center in critical condition, while the firefighters and elderly patients were reported to be in stable condition. Specific details about their injuries have not been released. One patient required advanced life support due to the severity of their condition.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the ambulance and SUV crash in LA, and no further details regarding the cause of the collision have been disclosed.
