LOS ANGELES, CA — Morning traffic on the 10 Freeway came to a standstill Tuesday after a box truck slammed into the rear of a big rig in Baldwin Park.
The I-10 crash happened around 5:47 a.m. near Puente Avenue, shutting down all eastbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Aerial footage revealed the severity of the collision: the cab of the box truck was crushed, and emergency crews worked urgently to free the trapped driver.
After several minutes of rescue efforts, responders successfully pulled the man from the wreckage. He was conscious when transported to a hospital, though his condition has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities reopened at least three lanes by 7:00 a.m., allowing limited traffic flow as cleanup and investigation continued.
