LOS GATOS, CA — Thanksgiving night turned chaotic in Los Gatos, California, after a 90-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a well-known local coffee shop.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Thursday, when officers from the Los Gatos–Monte Sereno Police Department responded to an emergency call at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company. When they arrived, they found a black sedan inside the business with significant structural damage.
Firefighters extricated the elderly driver from the vehicle and transported him to a nearby hospital. Authorities reported that he is in serious but stable condition.
According to police, alcohol may have been a factor in the crash in Los Gatos, though the investigation is ongoing and no possible cause has been ruled out.
Fortunately, the coffee shop was closed and empty at the time of the crash, and the driver was the only person in the vehicle.
