A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck Monday night in Sylmar.
The collision occurred in the 12200 block of San Fernando Road. First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim has not yet been identified.
LA police have not confirmed whether the individual was walking in the roadway or on the sidewalk at the time of the crash.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and attempted to help. The truck sustained significant front-end damage.
Investigators have ruled out a hit-and-run. The incident remains under investigation.
