A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in San Bernardino County on suspicion of child abuse after a 5-year-old boy was found with visible injuries to his face.
The suspect, identified as Tiffany Torres, was taken into custody on Tuesday at a residence in the 1000 block of Bailey Avenue in the city of Needles. Deputies responding to a welfare call discovered the boy with multiple bruises and abrasions, prompting an immediate investigation.
Torres was booked into the Colorado River Station and remains in custody with bail set at $50,000, according to local law enforcement. She is currently awaiting a court hearing.
Officials have not disclosed the nature of the child’s relationship to Torres, and the boy’s current condition has not been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the abuse is ongoing.
Child Protective Services has reportedly been notified, and further details are expected pending the outcome of the court proceedings.
