Alfredo Romero, Recology Mechanic, has tragically passed away following a workplace accident in San Francisco last week Friday.
The accident happened on May 16 at the Tunnel Avenue Recology facility as Romero was doing his work. Recology later confirmed his death in a statement, expressing their grief and condolences for all that knew him including his friends, co-workers, and family.
Romero had worked in the waste management industry for 40 years, which the union said in a statement was one of the most dangerous professions in the country.
A GoFundMe campaign was arranged by the family in his honor and to cover burial expenses.
