A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured Tuesday evening after a violent collision that triggered an explosion at an intersection in Hollywood.
The crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of 66th Avenue and Sheridan Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist deceased, while two other individuals were injured and transported to local hospitals.
Preliminary findings suggest that the motorcycle exploded upon impact with a vehicle, igniting a fire that severely burned one of the victims. The female driver of the second vehicle was initially treated at a hospital and later transferred to a burn center due to the extent of her injuries.
A passenger on the motorcycle reportedly escaped the crash without injuries.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
