A male motorcyclist died late Monday night following a collision with a sedan at an intersection southwest of Bakersfield.
The crash occurred around 11:03 p.m. at Wilson Road and Bladen Street. According to preliminary details, a white Hyundai sedan was turning from the westbound lanes when it collided with a motorcycle traveling eastbound through the intersection.
Emergency crews arrived to find the motorcyclist critically injured. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
The female driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities have not indicated whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The incident remains under active investigation.
