Two people were killed late Thursday night in a fiery collision between an SUV and a semi-truck near the Roxford Street exit in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred around 10:41 p.m. when the SUV rear-ended the semi-truck, triggering a fire after the SUV burst into flames. Both vehicles came to a stop near the freeway off-ramp.
A witness at the scene told local media he attempted to extinguish the fire using a truck driver’s fire extinguisher, but the blaze had already overtaken the SUV. Emergency responders later confirmed two fatalities at the scene.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
