A man has been killed in a fiery car crash after a driver ran a red light and collided with his car at the intersection of Union Avenue and East California Avenue in Bakersfield Tuesday night.
Authorities were called to the scene at around 11 p.m. where a BMW driving north ran a red light and violently crashed into a Dodge Charger travelling west.
The Dodge driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the local hospital, where he eventually died. The driver and passenger of the BMW meanwhile were left with major moderate injuries and were also hospitalized.
Speed and alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors of the crash.
