A man was killed after a fatal hit-and-run at the intersection of State route 43 and Graces Highway in Bakersfield early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at about 2 a.m. when a Toyota Camry driving south was suddenly struck by a Toyota Tacoma driving west. Reportedly, the Tacoma failed to stop at the intersection, striking the side of the Camry and making the vehicle lose control and spin onto the dirt shoulder.
The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene, while the hit-and-run driver fled the scene on foot and is currently being searched.
DUI is suspected.
