Former San José State wide receiver Chandler Jones was recently killed following a car accident on California State Route 90 in Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
The 33-year-old Chandler, nicknamed “The Jet” by the Spartans, was a standout football player and went on to have a very successful athlete career.
The tragic incident unfolded at about 2 a.m. when Jones was struck by a Toyota RAV4 by an off-ramp. Upon arrival of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt traumatic injuries.
His former school, Bishop Montgomery High School, expressed their grief and condolences on social media for their alum.
