A man suspected of stabbing another individual was taken into custody Sunday evening following a police pursuit that ended in a crash on Bear Creek Road in Santa Clara County.
The incident began around 5:33 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 1700 block of 41st Avenue in Capitola.
The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered multiple stab wounds and was airlifted to a local trauma center. His condition has not been publicly disclosed.
Following a brief standoff with police, the suspect — described as a man in his late 20s — fled in a vehicle, triggering a pursuit northbound on Highway 17. The chase was called off near Indylwild Road due to the suspect’s reckless driving.
Shortly afterward, the suspect crashed on Bear Creek Road and was apprehended with injuries. He was taken into custody, and his current condition remains unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
