Several individuals are still considered “unaccounted for” after a fireworks warehouse in Northern California’s Yolo County exploded several times and caught on fire Tuesday evening.
The incident happened at about 5:50 p.m. at Devastating Pyrotechnics located in the area of county roads 23 and 86A. The explosion caused several buildings to catch fire with the flames spreading into the surrounding vegetation. The burn area was approximately 80 acres.
Families of those believed to be inside the warehouse have reportedly been unsuccessful in contacting their loved ones. The next evening, Cal Fire reported that there were seven people missing and that first responders are currently searching for them.
Among the missing are 18-year-old Jesus Ramos and his brothers 22-year-old Johnny Ramos and 28-year-old Junior Melendez.
Two other individuals were injured and received medical care.
