At least five people were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a stolen pickup truck triggered a 10-vehicle collision on Highway 101.
The incident began around 2:30 p.m. when a 38-year-old woman allegedly assaulted a store employee on Bayshore Boulevard and fled in a stolen truck. The suspect drove northbound on Highway 101 before causing a multi-car pileup near an off-ramp.
Following the crash, the woman attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers at the scene. Her condition and motive remain under review, and authorities are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
The identities of the injured have not been released.
