A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured Saturday night when a flying tire rim crashed through a windshield and struck her in the face while she was en route to a concert at Oracle Park.
Emma Fulton was traveling with her mother to see My Chemical Romance when the rim detached from an unknown vehicle and smashed through their car’s front windshield around 8:30 p.m., striking her directly.
Emergency responders stabilized Emma at the scene before transporting her to a hospital. She suffered severe injuries requiring multiple surgeries, including skull reconstruction. Her condition has since improved, and she is on a path to recovery.
A GoFundMe has since then been arranged to help Emma’s family with medical expenses.
