Four children were left with injuries following a hit-and-run crash on Sepulveda Boulevard near 96th Street in LAX early Tuesday morning.
First responders were called to the scene at about 1:50 a.m. after receiving calls about a crash and the driver fleeing. Authorities say a vehicle traveling at high speed struck the center median, leaving the young passengers injured inside.
One child sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. The other three suffered less serious injuries.
The driver, identified only as a woman, reportedly fled the scene on foot, abandoning the children in the crashed vehicle. It remains unclear whether she is related to the injured minors.
The Los Angeles Police Department is actively searching for the suspect.
Anyone with information about the crash or the identity of the driver is urged to contact law enforcement.
