REDONDO BEACH, CA (November 21, 2024) – A man was killed and a woman injured late Wednesday night after a car crashed into a light pole and burst into flames in Redondo Beach. The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. near Palos Verdes Boulevard and South Catalina Avenue, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
Authorities said both the man, who was driving, and the woman were in the car when it struck the pole, igniting a fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Neither has been identified.
The cause of the Redondo Beach car crash is under investigation.
