
San Mateo, CA – A flatbed tow truck slammed into a pole early Monday morning on Highway 1 near Bean Hollow Road, southwest of Pescadero, leaving at least one person dead, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision took place around 1:40 a.m. and forced authorities to shut down both directions of Highway 1. Crews worked for several hours to clear the scene, allowing traffic to resume in both directions shortly before 5 a.m.
CHP officials have not released the name of the victim or further details about the circumstances leading to the San Mateo County truck crash. The investigation remains active, and no additional information was provided.
