LONG BEACH, CA (November 3, 2024) – Authorities are investigating a boat fire that forced seven passengers to jump into the water near the Queen Mary and Hotel Maya in Long Beach on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. in the channel, where, for reasons still unknown, the 30-foot vessel caught fire, prompting all on board to abandon ship.
The Long Beach Fire Department quickly responded, rescuing all seven individuals from the water. Four of the passengers required hospitalization, though their conditions have not been released. The remaining three were treated on-site and did not need further medical attention.
