RIVERSIDE, CA – A suspected intoxicated driver was arrested on Saturday after a three-vehicle collision that left a 75-year-old Riverside woman dead, police said. The crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. near Collett Avenue and Stonewall Drive.
Investigators believe the 38-year-old man behind the wheel of a Toyota Tundra slammed into a Jeep Liberty, propelling the Jeep into oncoming lanes. The Jeep then collided head-on with a Toyota C-HR driven by a 70-year-old Riverside resident.
Paramedics rushed the Jeep’s driver to a local hospital, where she died. Officers took the drunk driver arrested in Riverside into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Police have not released the names of those involved. Detectives urge anyone with information to contact the Riverside Police Department.
