Out-of-Control Driver Crashes into East Hollywood Liquor Store

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 22, 2024) — An out-of-control driver slammed into a liquor store in East Hollywood early Sunday morning, causing significant damage to the storefront and scattering merchandise inside.
The East Hollywood crash occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. at the store near Berendo Street and Santa Monica Boulevard. A Honda CR-V crashed through the front of the establishment, heavily damaging its front end and bending metal columns separating the window panes.
Food items and other products were strewn across the store, and reports indicate that an ATM and a lottery machine were destroyed. Initially, authorities suspected a possible smash-and-grab robbery, but the Los Angeles Police Department later confirmed that the female driver simply lost control of her vehicle.
Officers conducted a sobriety test on the driver, which she passed. The cause of her loss of control remains under investigation.
