Pedestrian Killed By Two Vehicles in Venice Hit-and-Run
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 20, 2024) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles late Tuesday night in L.A.’s Venice neighborhood, with one vehicle dragging the victim down the street, authorities said.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the initial collision occurred at 11:19 p.m. in the 700 block of Venice Boulevard as the pedestrian was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk. The first vehicle hit the pedestrian and fled the scene.
A second vehicle then struck and dragged the victim. Video obtained by local news shows firefighters working to lift the black BMW off the ground to free the pedestrian, who was pinned underneath. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The driver of the second vehicle stopped near the collision site and cooperated with police. The first vehicle involved in the Venice hit-and-run has not been identified, and no description is currently available. The investigation remains ongoing.
