Shuttle Bus Accident at Honolulu Cruise Terminal Results in Fatality
CALIFORNIA (April 14, 2024) — A devastating shuttle bus crash occurred outside the Honolulu cruise terminal on Friday, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others.
According to Matt Lupoli, senior manager at Carnival Cruise Line, the accident involved nine guests from the Carnival Miracle. “Sadly, one guest has died from her injuries. She was traveling with her husband, who was also injured but is expected to recover,” Lupoli reportedly told news agencies.
The crash happened when the shuttle bus driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the bus to collide with pedestrians and two concrete barriers at the terminal, as reported by Hawaii News Now.
All injured victims in the Honolulu Cruise Terminal bus accident were promptly taken to local hospitals, where they are being treated with conditions ranging from serious to stable.
Carnival Cruise Line’s Care Team is currently providing assistance to the affected guests and their families.
