SoCal Exec Faces Prison for Unapproved Stem Cell Drug Linked to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s

SANTA ANA, CA (August 28, 2024) — John Warrington Kosolcharoen, 53, a Southern California business executive, is facing up to three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing an unapproved stem cell drug that led to multiple hospitalizations.
Kosolcharoen, who founded Liveyon LLC and Genetech Inc., admitted to introducing the unapproved drug, ReGen, into interstate commerce with the intent to defraud and mislead.
Kosolcharoen’s companies marketed ReGen and other stem cell products nationwide, falsely claiming they could treat conditions like autoimmune disorders, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and heart and lung diseases.
Despite lacking FDA approval, these products were distributed widely, resulting in 12 hospitalizations across three states in 2018 due to bacterial infections.
As part of his plea agreement, Kosolcharoen admitted to misleading consumers about the risks and adverse events associated with Liveyon’s products and falsifying information during an FDA inspection.
Kosolcharoen is currently serving a sentence for an unrelated conviction and is expected to be sentenced for this case on September 23.
