Support Sought for Officer Gonzalez After Fatal Accident in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 23, 2024) — The family of Officer Carlos Gonzalez has established a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses following his tragic death in a car accident on July 21, 2024.
The accident occurred around 1:47 a.m. at the intersection of La Mesa and Amethyst Roads. Officer Gonzalez, a Correctional Officer at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Victorville, had just celebrated his first work anniversary on July 15th.
The incident involved a blue 2002 Ford Ranger that overturned and landed on the grass at Liberty Elementary School after broadsiding a black 2021 Toyota Camry, which sustained significant damage. The occupants of the Camry were transported to a hospital as a precaution.
Officer Gonzalez’s sister, Jackie Gonzales, started the GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of his viewing and other related expenses. The Police Department is currently investigating this fatal accident in Victorville.
