Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After High-Speed Chase in the OC [Orange County, CA]

ORANGE COUNTY, CA (May 22, 2024) — A suspected DUI driver was arrested Tuesday night after a high-speed chase that spanned Los Angeles and Orange counties.
The pursuit began with deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s East L.A. Station and was later taken over by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The Los Angeles to OC DUI chase started on surface streets before the suspect entered the eastbound 60 Freeway near the 605 Freeway interchange. Due to safety concerns, authorities temporarily called off the pursuit, monitoring the suspect from the air as he drove on the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway and then onto the 91 Freeway.
CHP officers re-engaged the pursuit on the 91 Freeway, deploying a spike strip in Anaheim that disabled the suspect’s front passenger side tire. The suspect exited the freeway at South Raymond Avenue in Anaheim and surrendered without further incident.
