Tesla Cybertruck Crashes into Beverly Hills Hotel Sign, Musk Comments [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 5, 2024) — A Tesla Cybertruck met an unexpected end to its journey late Sunday night when it crashed into the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel sign, causing notable damage to both the sign and the vehicle. 

The Tesla Cybertruck crash occurred just before midnight on March 3rd, at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and North Beverly Drive. The heavy, stainless steel truck hopped the curb, ending up with its front wheels atop a concrete landscaping wall, highlighting the vehicle’s significant heft and the dramatic nature of the crash.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO and owner of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, commented on the incident with a mix of humor and reflection on the vehicle’s power. 

“Cyberbeast is faster than a Porsche 911, but looks like a truck, so perhaps the valet wasn’t expecting so much acceleration,” he remarked in an interview with local news service providers.

Contrary to initial reports, the Cybertruck was not under the control of a hotel valet at the time of the accident.

This event capped a perilous night for Tesla vehicles in Los Angeles, with another incident involving a Tesla going off an overpass in Griffith Park, fortunately resulting in the escape of its occupants before it burst into flames.
