Truck Crash on 215 Freeway Leaves One Dead, Another Injured
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (May 9, 2024) — A fatal crash on the 215 Freeway near the SR-210 junction in San Bernardino resulted in the death of one woman and serious injuries to another on Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened just before 1:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred when a Nissan Versa, traveling southbound, unexpectedly stopped. A Freightliner Box Truck following close behind could not halt in time, crashing into the Versa. The impact sent the Versa crashing into the guardrail, causing it to overturn.
Paramedics declared the driver of the Versa dead at the scene, while a female passenger was transported to a hospital with major injuries. Investigations into the exact cause of the sudden stop and the subsequent San Bernardino truck crash are ongoing.
