Vandalism Spree Damages Local Business’s Car Fleet

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25, 2024) — Three individuals were caught on camera damaging a fleet of vehicles belonging to the local cleaning company, Pink Sponge.
The incident, which took place shortly after midnight on April 20 atop a Glendora parking structure, involved damaging eighteen pink Volkswagen Bugs. One of the culprits was filmed twerking on the hood of a vehicle during the Glendora parking vandalism spree.
Jennifer Ahlgrim, co-founder of Pink Sponge, reported extensive damage including smashed windows, broken lights, and scattered cleaning supplies. “The scene was chaotic—vacuums and products strewn about, it was heartbreaking,” Ahlgrim was quoted as saying by local news agencies.
The destruction is estimated to cost around $25,000, with the vandals also leaving gang-related graffiti on the vehicles.
In response to the damage, the company plans extensive repairs and replacements for the affected cars. Despite filing a claim, their insurance company has denied coverage, leading to the creation of a GoFundMe page to raise funds for repairs.
Glendora Police have arrested the three juveniles responsible for the vandalism. Ahlgrim reportedly expressed her dismay, noting the challenge of rebuilding what was destroyed: “As a small business, we’ve put our hearts into building this from scratch. It’s painful to see such senseless destruction.”
