Worker Fatally Struck by Construction Equipment in Newhall
SANTA CLARITA, CA (September 29, 2024) — A man was killed Friday afternoon after being struck by construction equipment on Arcadia Street in Newhall, authorities said. The incident occurred around 12:50 p.m. in the 24400 block of Arcadia Street, leading officials to close off the area.
Sgt. Justin Boosalis of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that deputies responded to calls about a person hit by machinery used for street paving. Homicide Bureau detectives are treating the death as an accident, according to Detective Mark Farino. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
The identity of the worker stuck by construction equipment has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Officials have not disclosed details about what led to the incident.
