Young Driver Killed in Head-On Collision on Oakdale Road
OAKDALE, CA (June 8, 2024) — A tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening in Oakdale, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man from Ceres and injuries to two others. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Orange Blossom Road, west of Wamble Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The deceased, driving a Ford Mustang at a high rate of speed eastbound on Orange Blossom Road, veered across the double yellow lines to avoid a slower vehicle turning right. This maneuver led to a head-on collision with an oncoming Jeep. The impact was fatal for the Mustang’s driver, who died at the scene.
The Jeep’s driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. A 4-year-old boy, also in the Jeep, suffered minor injuries. CHP confirmed that the Jeep’s driver was sober, although it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a part in the Mustang driver’s actions.
The Oakdale car accident highlights the dangers of high-speed driving and the critical importance of adhering to road safety rules.
