YouTuber Faces Charges for Helicopter Fireworks Stunt on Lamborghini

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (June 7, 2024) — Suk Min Choi, known as “Alex Choi” on YouTube, was arrested following allegations of orchestrating a dangerous stunt involving a helicopter and fireworks in San Bernardino County.
The Justice Department has charged Choi with causing the placement of an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft, a felony that could result in up to ten years in federal prison.
The incident, captured in a YouTube video titled “Destroying a Lamborghini with Fireworks,” allegedly shows Choi directing two women in a helicopter to fire at a speeding Lamborghini. The video was reportedly filmed without the necessary permits on the El Mirage Dry Lakebed. It includes scenes of Choi actively coordinating the shoot and handling fireworks, which were stated to be illegally purchased in Nevada.
This case is currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Dominique Caamano leading the prosecution.
