1 Died in Rollover Crash on I-15 Near Valley Center [Deer Springs Road, CA]
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 22, 2024) — A deadly rollover crash on northbound I-15 near Deer Springs Road in North County San Diego caused significant delays during Tuesday’s morning commute.
Around 6:35 a.m., a truck carrying two people crashed and rolled over, coming to rest on the right-hand shoulder.
One person was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to CalFire Captain Mike Conrette. The other occupant sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Emergency crew, including at least two fire trucks, responded to the scene, where debris was scattered around the wrecked white truck. One right lane was blocked during the response. A green freeway sign was down near the crash site, though it was unclear if it was related to the Deer Springs crash.
