4-Year-Old Fatally Struck by Truck in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (March 24, 2024) — A 4-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a truck in Long Beach Friday night. The Long Beach Police Department responded to the scene at 6:58 p.m. at the intersection of 55th Way and Paramount Boulevard, where they discovered the young victim.
Despite rapid transportation to a local hospital and efforts by medical professionals to save her life, the girl succumbed to her injuries. The incident involved a 25-year-old man from Downey, driving a Ford F-150 truck eastbound on 55th, who collided with the girl as she crossed the road, not within a marked crosswalk.
The driver stayed on the scene, cooperating fully with law enforcement officials. Preliminary findings by the police indicate no evidence of speeding, distraction, or impairment on the part of the driver at the time of the accident.
