70-Year-Old Cyclist Dies After Collision in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 22, 2024) — A 70-year-old male bicyclist died after a collision with a vehicle in San Diego’s Roseville/Fleet Ridge neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.
At 2:38 p.m., officers from the San Diego Police Department responded to the intersection of Evergreen and Cañon streets. A 92-year-old woman driving a Chevy Volt was heading west on Cañon Street when she made a left turn onto Evergreen Street, entering the path of the eastbound cyclist.
The cyclist struck the right rear door of the vehicle and was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released. The driver was uninjured.
