70-Year-Old Cyclist Dies After Collision with Car in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 27, 2024) — A 70-year-old male cyclist died after a collision with a car driven by a 92-year-old woman in San Diego’s Roseville/Fleet Ridge neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.
The incident happened shortly before 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Canon Street and Evergreen Street, the San Diego Police Department reported. The woman was driving westbound on Canon Street when she made a left turn onto Evergreen Street, entering the path of the eastbound cyclist.
Emergency responders transported the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver was uninjured. Police are investigating the circumstances of the bike accident in San Diego. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.
