79-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Bus in Santa Fe Springs

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (September 26, 2024) — A 79-year-old pedestrian was killed Monday evening after being hit by a bus in Santa Fe Springs, authorities reported.
The collision occurred shortly before 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Pepper Brook Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim as Chi Tan Wong.
Emergency responders pronounced Wong dead at the scene. Aerial footage indicated that the bus involved was operated by Foothill Transit. The cause of the Santa Fe Springs pedestrian crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
