YUBA CITY, CA (November 19, 2024) – Seven children were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning following a collision involving a school bus and two other vehicles in Yuba City, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash, which occurred just before 8 a.m., temporarily closed South Walton Avenue at Cherry Street.
CHP’s Yuba-Sutter office reported that a gray sedan was stopped to turn left onto Cherry Street when a gray SUV stopped behind it. The bus, unable to stop in time, allegedly rear-ended the SUV, pushing it into the sedan.
The seven students on board the bus were transported to the hospital with minor injuries or as a precaution. The three occupants of the SUV did not require hospitalization, officials said. The road reopened around 9:30 a.m. after the crash scene was cleared.
