Pregnant Woman Loses Unborn Child After Fairfield Accident
FAIRFIELD, CA (September 26, 2024) — A pregnant woman lost her unborn child after being struck by a vehicle in Fairfield on Tuesday evening, police reported. The incident occurred around 7:18 p.m. as she was crossing East Tabor Avenue near Manor Avenue with her toddler in a stroller.
The vehicle narrowly missed the stroller, sparing the toddler from serious harm. The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition, but her unborn child did not survive. The toddler sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police stated that impaired driving is not suspected in the Fairfield accident.
