Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crash in Mission Valley West

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2024) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a vehicle in San Diego’s Mission Valley West on Sunday evening.
Around 7:30 p.m., the rider of a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound on Hotel Circle South when he failed to stop at a red light, according to the San Diego Police Department. Simultaneously, a 66-year-old man driving a 2015 Toyota Prius was heading eastbound on Taylor Street and made a left turn onto the Interstate 8 on-ramp under a green light.
The motorcycle struck the Prius, resulting in the rider sustaining a fractured pelvis. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Prius was uninjured. Traffic units responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation. Police stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
