
POMONA, CA (July 18, 2024) — A mother of six, Carol Fuentes, died at a hospital following a hit-and-run crash in Pomona on July 5. The driver responsible for the fatal incident remains unidentified and at large.
The collision happened at the intersection of Garey and Orange Grove avenues, involving three vehicles, according to the Pomona Police Department. Four people, including 57-year-old Ms. Fuentes, were transported to the hospital. Ms. Fuentes succumbed to her injuries later in the week.
The suspect, driving a white SUV, fled the scene, leaving the Fuentes family devastated. A GoFundMe page set up to assist the family had raised nearly $5,000 by Wednesday morning. Ms. Fuentes is survived by her husband and six children. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the Pomona hit-and-run to contact traffic investigators at 909-802-7741 or 909-620-2048.
