Woman Killed in Suspected Drunk Driving Crash in Stockton
STOCKTON, CA (July 15, 2024) — A suspected drunk driving crash in Stockton claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman early Sunday morning. The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. in the Lakeview District near Quail Lakes Drive and North Pershing Avenue, as reported by the Stockton Police Department.
The woman was broadsided by another vehicle and transported to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Police identified the suspect driver as Estrella Preciosa Pantoja, 24, who was alleged to be under the influence at the time of the crash.
Pantoja was booked into San Joaquin County Jail just before 4:30 a.m. on charges including vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and two felony counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. Jail records indicate her blood alcohol content was above 0.08%.
