Fatal Head-On Collision in Temecula Kills Menifee Man
TEMECULA, CA (July 7, 2024) — A head-on collision in Temecula on Friday evening resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man and injuries to two others.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Rancho California Road near the I-15 overpass, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Glenmar Salcedo of Menifee was driving a Hyundai SUV when, for unknown reasons, he drove into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another vehicle. The impact caused a third car to be struck.
Despite efforts by paramedics, Salcedo was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals involved in the collision were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries, though their conditions remain unknown.
Authorities stated that intoxication is not believed to be a factor in the collision in Temecula, but the reason for Salcedo’s vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic is still under investigation.
