Amusement Park Ride Malfunction Traps 18 in Ventura County

VENTURA, CA (June 24, 2024) — Over a dozen passengers were rescued after an amusement park ride got stuck in mid-air at Conejo Creek Park South in Ventura County on Sunday evening.
Around 8 p.m., 911 calls flooded into the Ventura County Fire Department reporting the incident.
“Firefighters responded to a technical rescue at Conejo Creek Park as approximately 18 people were trapped on an amusement park ride,” the Fire Department stated in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. They also posted an image showing the ride involved in the Conejo Creek Park accident, which features a spinning enclosed compartment for passengers.
All 18 riders were safely rescued within 30 minutes of the initial 911 calls, according to the Fire Department.
