Driver Critically Injured in Rollover Crash on SR-138, Airlifted to Hospital

HESPERIA, CA (April 17, 2024) — A rollover accident on State Route 138 resulted in critical injuries for a driver early Monday morning.
The SR-138 rollover crash, reported at 6:28 am near Summit Post Office Road, prompted an immediate response from California Highway Patrol Officers and San Bernardino County Fire.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a 2003 GMC Yukon on its side with the driver ejected from the vehicle. Due to the severity of the injuries, firefighters called for a helicopter to transport the driver to a trauma center. Mercy Air landed on SR 138 near Summit Valley Road to facilitate the urgent airlift to an out-of-area hospital.
The California Highway Patrol Victorville Station is investigating the cause of the crash. As developments continue, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
